The Brown Onion is firm, juicy, and crisp. It is slightly more acidic when it is raw but after being exposed to some heat, it becomes nuttier and even sweet. They are a good source of Vitamin C and fibre, and are the most common cooking onions. Great for braising, caramelizing, they can be chopped and used for stews and soups like the classic French Onion Soup.
